Department of Education and Culture Courses - The Department of Education and Culture (DEC) has began registration for persons interested in evening courses leading to a certificate in Secondary Education (SE) and courses in Technical Job Preparation (TJP).
The technical courses include sewing, auto mechanics, auto body repair, machine shop practice and also the following maintenance related courses carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and electricity.
The tuition fees for these courses are as follows:
§ 1 course $100.00
§ 2 courses 160.00
§ 3 courses 240.00
§ 4 courses 280.00
Interested adults will pay a fee of $500 for the alternate secondary education programme. Classes for this programme will commence on Monday, October 1. For the technical courses classes will begin on Monday, October 1
Application forms and full descriptions of these courses are available at the Department of Education and Culture, the Security and Help Desks in the Central Administration Building, and at the Student Services Centre on the second level of the Cutlass Building.

MDEC Summer Programme
The Ministry and Department of Education and Culture (MDEC) is hosting its annual Summer Programme, which began on July 8. This year the programme will run until Friday, July 26 under the theme 'Youth Development Through Skill Building.'

JVD Community Library Reopens
The Library Services Department reopened the Jost Van Dyke (JVD) Community Library on April 24 with an assortment of entertainment activities. The students from the JVD School and Mr. Feliciano 'Foxy' Callwood entertained the guests with music, poems and stories.
