Drainage Construction In Huntums Ghut by Trenton Field
Tuesday, May 28 - Construction of a concrete drain near Alexander Todman's shop in Huntums Ghut began Monday, May 27.
According to Public Works Department roads engineer Jerome Frett, the work is undertaken by James Todman Construction Ltd. at $27,429 and should be completed in two weeks.
Mr. Frett said the dip in the road will be replaced with a 160 feet concrete drain. 'This drainage is to relieve road users of the inconvenience caused by heavy downpour of rain which floods that area,' he said.
Although the road is not closed, motorists are diverted through Lower Estate to avoid traffic congestion.
