Just caught the blurb via the Electronic Urban Report and awaiting more details. Music, poetry, theatre and social biznizz among the likes of Danny Glover, Lillias White, Virginia Capers, Glynn Turman... with more to be announced. Ting-a-Ling-a-Ling: School bells may no longer ring for the Charlotte Amalie High School Class of 1984, but the curtain will go up on 20th year reunion activities in 2004. Will you be there? The Class web site has undergone a number of revisions, and features a stroll down memory lane ("Guess"), the 2002 meeting schedule, the latest fundraising and social events, and guestbook. At present, the CAHS Class of 1984 is working on participation in the Virgin Islands 2002 Carnival Food Fair: Wednesday, April 24th, 2002 - (Honoring Alvin and Olga McBean) from 8am until at the Rothschild Francis Square (Market Square). There's still plenty of room for sponsorships, too. Visit the Events Page for the latest information and the awe-inspiring menu! For all the haps, throw http://www.cahs1984.com/ into your faves file, to keep up with the webmaster, Terry T (top, right), and your classmates...
Inbox Extra: You don't have to be a journalist to have a nose for news. It's easy to tell when you're getting a fresh, independent take on the day's events. [insert painfully honest moment here:] When large business concerns control much of the media while wielding significant political influence, it's easy to see the need for as many free voices as possible. The Virgin Islands Source publications began in 1999 in the spirit of service, and founder Shaun Pennington pours heart and soul into keeping it real. Her efforts are definitely appreciated - Virgin Islanders share click-space with Source readers around the world. In addition to the free V.I. news 24/7, now there's a premium service called SourceDirect: the day's top 5 stories plus selected features delivered to your inbox daily. Secure signup available online (via PayPal), with a Source cap going to annual subscribers. Yup, it's still gonna be there for surfing any time, but why not take the cooperative approach to Virgin Islands news by signing up for SourceDirect...?
Visions of St. Lucia: Tourist guides are a great jump-start to exciting vacation activities. Only problem - ya gotta wait 'til the plane lands or the ship docks to pick up one of the slick mags. Online information is not always guaranteed to be current, so it's always best to check in with a regular publication once you get where you're going. If you're going to St. Lucia, you should know that St. Lucia's Visions is now online. Along with the current batch of fun and sunny stuff, you'll also find plenty of cultural reads. Watch yourself! You may find yourself dashing off to find your travel agent, jonesing for a few days in St. Lucia...
