Culebra, named after a large, local lizard, is located about 25 miles off shore east of the mainland. It can be reached by ferry (ca. 2hr. Note: usually one-a-day service on weekdays and twice on weekends and holidays) from the terminal at Playa Fajardo. Check the schedule prior to making plans. Autos require advanced reservations.
